Three days since the new Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood DLC release and still no answers to why people are paying for something they can’t download.
Thursday was a big day for Xbox Live. Map Pack 3 hit for Call of Duty: World at War. But that was not the only “Call of” game that received DLC. Fans of the Western first-person shooter “Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood” game were treated (or so they thought) to a new Map Pack that cost 800 Microsoft Points ($10). That Map Pack contains 4 new multiplayer maps. The problem is we never got to see those maps yet.
This whole mess started on Thursday morning when the map pack was released for “0″ Microsoft Points. Microsoft later fixed this and slapped a “800 point” price on the download. But that was just the start of what has really pissed many gamers off.
If you buy the DLC now you will go to the download screen after purchase. The download will stop at 1%, resulting in a error code (Status Code: 90070570). This problem started on Thursday, today is Saturday… still nothing is resolved. How do I know this? I am one of the many that bought this map pack for $10 and still not able to download it.
Who is to blame? Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood developer Techland and publisher UBISoft claims it is the fault of Microsoft. Gamers have tried to contact Microsoft and the results are not very good. The Xbox and Call of Juarez fan forums are lighting up with anger over how this situation is being treated. Gamers are paying $10 and receiving nothing in return.
Here are some excerpts from the forums at xbox.com.

Hello ,We would like to suggest that you contact Microsoft as you are trying to download this from the Xbox 360 Market Place.
We do apologise for any inconvenience this is causing you.
Regarding the payment , we have knowledge of the DLC being free.
Please let us know how things go after contacting Microsoft.
Kind regards,
Ubisoft Technical Support

This is the first game that I have attempted to get DLC and if this is how users are treated then I will not be buying anything with Microsoft points again. I like others tried to download it when it was free but couldn’t. Then it was listed for 800 points, I like the game a lot and figured $12.50 was decent for the amount of time I would be playing the new content. Oh silly me. Instead I have been waiting for two days now to receive content that I paid for. “No refunds” only applies if the product actually was received. The fact is, Microsoft knows there is a problem and hasn’t done one thing to fix it. At least they could acknowledge the problem and let us know that it will be fixed.

Purchased last night and got the error code. A buddy of mine has also lost 800 points on this. I’m sure though no one is going to read this thread, so does anyone know how we get this dealt with?

I was on the phone for hours yesterday. I had asked to escalate the problem and when I got to the supervisor he kept talking over me and not letting me explain the situation. His name was Carl or something. I had also talked to a person named John. Anyways, I waited 20mins to talk to him only for him to say he won’t refund me and then hang up on me.
Supervisior :”Anything else I can help you with?”
Me: ” No, I am not done discussing this problem”
*click*How rude and unprofessional on how they treat customers. I am so annoyed at this.

Just got off the phone with Billing Support. Amazingly, the agent said that were was no official report of the issue in their system. There is now.
One agent said it could take up to a week to fix the problem. It took about 2 hours on the phone, but I requested and have now received a refund of the 800 points.
I don’t know if they’ll do it, but I also requested that they remove the content from the Marketplace until the problem is resolved.

I too had this problem as of Aug 6th. I just check this update as of today Aug 11th. When I turned my xbox on i immediately got an update and then a second one. I proceeded to clear my cache and reboot then i tried the download and amazingly it works. I tested out a couple of the maps and all seems well. I suggest everyone that had a problem with this add-on try the steps I mentioned above, and you should be good to go…. Happy Gunslingin!!1 :) Enjoy
don’t believe the conspiracy theory that the NXE changed the RROD to the E74 so that Microsoft could sneak out of the repair cost. That is crazy talk. It is much simpler to believe that the guts of the Xbox 360 are still cooking itself and will randomly kill itself based on a plethora of possible failure points.
If there are any Microsoft employees reading this article you need to tell Robbie Bach to get on the phone with Steve Balmer and consider extending the three year warranty for the three Red Ring of Death to cover console RnR Repairs for the single red light of death. The E47. Currently we don’t know how big this problem is but even if there is one unhappy Xbox 360 gamer that is asked to shell out $110 to get their Xbox 360 fixed they are going to slam Xbox online and to their friends. Rather than buying a replacement Xbox 360 Arcade for $199 they might just trade in all their Xbox 360 stuff and get a PS3 or Wii. Why that Sony and Nintendo can make consoles that have a failure rate near or less than 1%? Most gamers typically want their video game console to last the length of the console life on the market. This is killing your brand and it is spilling into other markets like Windows. It will be cheaper for the company in the long run to fix the Xbox 360s killed by E74s than to turn off those potential customers to Microsoft products. I am sure that the Xbox Red Ring of Death debacle has devalued the perception of Microsoft as a brand outside of videogames. The RROD and E74 runs the risk of turning an entire generation of future consumers away from seeing Microsoft favorite
The one Red Light of Death is not covered like the three year warranty for the three light Red Ring of Death. I think they really need to thin about changing that policy to match the Red Ring of Death three year extended warranty as soon as humanly possible. If my brand new Jasper motherboard based Xbox 360 give me an E74 I am not going to be happy slappy camper
A single mother is faced with innumerable challenges starting form household expenses to buying things from the market to looking after the children

Do you believe the housing crisis is over and we have entered a post crash realty market? I believe the economy requirements to fully recover just before we have enough folks confident enought to buy new homes. In this marketplace its tough to make a long term investment and burden oneself with additional debt with as much uncertainty is inside the air.
