A few months ago, EA carelessly released details regarding Crysis 3 over their Origin digital platform service. Today, history repeats itself with a possible Battlefield 4 confirmation.
According to a poster at NeoGaf, if one logs into Origin, selects “Genre”, and then “Shooter”, you’ll be introduced to the image shown above. “Medal of Honor: Warfighter – Pre-order today for exclusive Battlefield 4 beta access.” This was a similar tactic done in 2010′s Medal of Honor where early MoH adopters were granted access to Battlefield 3′s multiplayer beta.
Does a Battlefield 3 successor sound like a good idea at this point in time? Based on sales numbers for Battlefield 3, the decision to release a possible sequel seems like a good concept, business wise. After all, the game sold millions of copies and is one of the most successful FPS’ next to Call of Duty.
This speculation does bring up the question: Will Battlefield 4 premiere on the current generation of consoles? The game, as it stands now, already pushes the boundaries of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Surely this won’t be an issues for PC players. Whether the game releases in this console generation is unknown.
While this is fine and dandy, we can’t help but wonder. Where is Bad Company 3? Nevertheless, we hope to see our B-Company squad return very soon.
We’ll keep you updated.
