Dedicated digital publisher with seasoned PR and marketing experience brings a fresh new publishing model to the sequel of one of the most popular PC games of 2011

Fresh off the runaway success of Dungeon Defenders (which recently surpassed 1 million units sold across all platforms), digital experts Reverb Publishing today announced a partnership with the veteran development team at Coffee Stain Studios to publish the PC, Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network version of Sanctum 2, the sequel to its incredibly popular PC title, Sanctum. Since launching on Steam in April 2011, the tower-defense/first-person-shooter genre bending Sanctum has sold over 300,000 units.

“We’re always searching for great games from passionate developers, particularly studios that have innovative ideas that get us excited to play them,” said Ted Lange, executive producer, Reverb Publishing. “Sanctum has been a huge success on Steam for Coffee Stain Studios, and bringing the next version to console players as well as the PC market is a great next step to share this unique experience. We all have logged quite a few hours with Sanctum and can definitively say that what Coffee Stain has in store for Sanctum 2 will blow the minds of Sanctum fans and new gamers alike.”

Sanctum is a fresh take on the tower defense genre and places the player right into the frenetic fray with tight first-person shooter gameplay mechanics. Gamers take the role of Skye, an elite soldier sent out to protect her home town, Elysion One, from hordes of mysterious alien creatures. To successfully defend your land, you must construct and upgrade a labyrinth of defensive structures and towers. When the havoc starts and the wave of baddies is unleashed, you jump right into the action with your own fully-upgradeable weapons and play a key role in the defense. Sanctum has taken the best features from FPSs and tower defense games to create something totally unique, and Sanctum 2 will only build on and improve that experience.

“With their combined public relations, marketing, sales and business development experience, Reverb Publishing has more than enough chops for us to be honored that they are publishing Sanctum 2,” said Anton Westbergh, producer and CEO for Coffee Stain Studios. “Reverb’s unique publishing model allowing us as the developer to fully retain our IP and keep the lion’s share of the revenue from the game made it a no-brainer. Their success with Dungeon Defenders proves they know how to take a digital title to market and make it a winner, and we can’t wait to see what they can do with Sanctum 2.”

Reverb Publishing’s unique business model is form fitted for each of its developers, ensuring that the developer receives the majority of the game’s revenue and maintains ownership of their titles’ IP while Reverb handles production support, first party management, marketing, public relations and distribution.

Sanctum 2 joins Reverb’s growing roster of titles, which includes the recently released Dungeon Defenders as well as the upcoming Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad, JAM Live Music Arcade, Black Knight Sword and much more.

Launch Details for the PC Version of the Critically Acclaimed Psychological Action Thriller “Alan Wake”

That’s right folks. We’ve obtained the PC publishing rights, and we’re putting them to good use – Remedy Entertainment Ltd. is proud to announce that Alan Wake will finally be available on PCs through Steam on February 16th and soon afterwards through other popular digital channels. Additionally, a boxed retail version of the game is coming soon. Steam pricing is confirmed as follows: $29.99 (game + DLCs) and $34.99 (LCE).

Alan Wake is a highly anticipated title among PC gamers and it’s finally coming home – sorry for the wait! Boasting 3 BAFTA nominations and named Game of the Year by TIME Magazine, Alan Wake combines inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock, Twin Peaks and Lost – but you probably already know all that if you’ve been paying attention. It’s a modern cult classic, praised by critics and fans alike as one of those game experiences that brings something unique, engaging to the table. We’re not just making that up, either:

”Great entertainment … a tough game to put down once you’ve started” – Oh, well, thanks Mr. IGN!

“Redefines interactive storytelling” – Hey, we appreciate it, Brian Crecente.

”Alan Wake is a brilliant piece of storytelling and one that is going to stand out as an example of single-player gaming done right.” – Aww shucks,we love you too Worthplaying.

Very soon our PC friends can enjoy the gripping, intense storyline and kick-ass action as our troubled writer faces darkness with light as his only ally. (Well, okay, some guns, too.) It’s like something out of a nightmare – a small Washington town, a missing wife, a darkness that stalks the woods, and a strange horror novel that Wake can’t remember writing, but which seems to be coming true before his very eyes.

PC gamers will face the darkness in stunning high-resolution graphics, refined and enhanced PC features and support for stereoscopic 3D and multiscreen. “We’ve done our best to do justice to the PC version and do things the way they should be done for PC. The PC version looks absolutely beautiful. We’re bringing the game to life in a whole new way,” says Markus Mäki, CTO at Remedy.”

With our history of PC titles, such as Max Payne, Max Payne 2 and Death Rally, Remedy has always wanted to bring a PC version of Alan Wake to the gamers’ fingertips. Now we can! We’re glad to be able to self-publish the title on Steam and work with Nordic Games to bring Wake to retail.

We’re very proud of what we’ve done so far with Wake – but for gamers who’ve always wanted the “every setting maxed out” experience, the modern PC hardware takes Alan Wake to new heights… and we bring the high definition goods. Believe it: You’ve never seen Alan Wake looking like this.

Can’t get enough Alan Wake? Don’t forget that the standalone spin off adventure, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, is coming to Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE Arcade on February 22 for 1200 MS Points.

The Key PC Version Enhancements

Experience Alan Wake’s Pacific Northwest in higher resolutions and higher fidelity than ever before

Refined and fully configurable mouse and keyboard support (or if you prefer to play with the Microsoft gamepad connected to your PC, you can do that too!)

A wide selection of customizable graphics settings and support for 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratios

Multithreaded engine that takes advantage of quad core CPUs

Additional options our fans have sought after, such as field of view adjustment as well as “hide HUD”.

Works with AMD Eyefinity 3D 3-screen mode

Works with NVIDIA NVISION2 Stereoscopic 3D

About Alan Wake
In this story-driven and intense Psychological Action Thriller, players assume the role of Alan Wake, a best-selling suspense author suffering from writer’s block, who escapes to a small town only to experience the mysterious disappearance of his wife. Set in the seemingly idyllic town of Bright Falls, Washington, Alan Wake draws players into an intense, cinematic world that enables them to explore the hyper-realistic and interactive environments. Alan Wake is structured in an episodic format, much like a thriller TV series, with a deeply engaging and suspenseful storyline unveiling plot twists and profound character revelations in nearly every episode.

Players will unravel the riveting plot through multilayered character interactions, unique problem-solving and intense combat against the darkest of enemies. In this nightmarish world, where the boundaries between reality and fiction become increasingly blurred and ambiguous, Alan Wake must use a variety of weapons to survive, including his most powerful ally against the darkness – light itself.

More Than 6.5 Million Units Sold in U.S. and U.K. in 24 Hours

Shattering its own day-one sales records, Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard (Nasdaq: ATVI), announced that its highly-anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has become the biggest entertainment launch ever with an estimated sell-through of more than $400 million and more than 6.5 million units in North America and the United Kingdom alone in the first 24 hours of its release, according to Charttrack and retail customer sell-through information.

This marks the third consecutive year that the Call of Duty franchise has set day one launch records across all forms of entertainment, something no other entertainment franchise in any medium has ever accomplished. Last year, in North America and the United Kingdom, Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops™ had estimated day-one sell-through of $360 million and in 2009, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, set day-one records with estimated sell through of $310 million, according to Charttrack and retail customer sell-through information.

On 8th November, 2011, millions of fans attended more than 13,000 midnight openings at retail stores around worldwide. According to Microsoft, after just two days, the number of gamers playing simultaneously on Xbox Live set a new peak concurrency record.

“We believe the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the biggest entertainment launch of all time in any medium, and we achieved this record with sales from only two territories,” said Bobby Kotick, CEO, Activision Blizzard, Inc. “Other than Call of Duty, there has never been another entertainment franchise that has set opening day records three years in a row. Life-to-date sales for the Call of Duty franchise exceed worldwide theatrical box office for “Star Wars” and “Lord of the Rings,” two of the most successful entertainment franchises of all time.”

Eric Hirshberg, CEO, Activision Publishing added, “Call of Duty is more than a game. It’s become a major part of the pop cultural landscape. It is a game that core enthusiasts love, but that also consistently draws new people into the medium. It is the most intense, adrenaline pumping entertainment experience anywhere. I would like to thank our incredible teams at Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games for making a brilliant game. But most of all, I would like to thank our millions of passionate fans worldwide. We made this game for you.”

Separately, Activision announced this morning that in support and gratitude for the efforts of American servicemen and women, this Veterans Day it donated $3 million to the Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit, public benefit corporation that seeks to provide job placement and training for veterans. This latest donation will be added to the $2 million that Activision has already donated to the Endowment, which has provided more than $1.5 million in grants and scholarships to veterans’ organizations across the US since it was conceived by Bobby Kotick in November of 2009.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is rated 18 by PEGI and is available now for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, and Windows PC.

Throughout this year, there have been rumours of a new Godzilla game in development titled “Godzilla: World at War.” Rumoured to have all Toho kaiju monsters available in a board-game like style game to be developed by Atari and to be released in 2012. There is only one thing though…

The sad truth is that there will be no new Godzilla video game. That rumoured had been dispelled with the creation of ”Godzilla: Kaiju World Wars .” I know what your’e thinking. Is that the video game we’ve been waiting for? Sadly, no. Godzilla: Kaiju World Wars is in fact a board-game like style game for the sole reason that it itself is a board-game. Although, not a video game, any true Godzilla fan, like myself, would still check it out.

Rumour Busted! - Godzilla: Kaiju World Wars is a Board-Game and it is NOT a video game.
Although, you can still order your Godzilla: Kaiju World Wars board-game - http://amzn.to/qaR9CC
