The rumors of an upcoming Xbox 360 controller design have officially been addressed by Microsoft. According to a few of these rumors, the new design would allow players to customize their D-pads for a better Fighting game experience with titles like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. The latest controller design will be released with the Play & Charge Kit in earlier 2011.
As expected, Microsoft issued a press releasing confirming most of the info we needed.
This November, Xbox 360 owners will be able to alter their controller with the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller with Play & Charge Kit – with Transforming D-pad. The matte silver controller contains a transforming directional pad that provides ultimate accuracy and control for both directional as well as sweeping movements. The Xbox 360 Wireless Controller with Transforming D-pad comes complete with a Play and Charge kit for $64.99 (U.S. ERP) and will ship to retailers beginning Nov. 9.
Select the traditional plus for distinct cardinal direction movement in games like “Halo: Reach” to change weapons and perform complicated combinations and deadly finishing moves in “Street Fighter” games, or rotate the D-pad to the disc format for sweeping motions in games such as “Pro Evolution Soccer 2011.” Choose your favorite controller set-up and experience unrivaled precision for all Xbox 360 games.
The award-winning Xbox 360 Wireless Controller is taken to the next level with a unique and premium button design, a matte silver color with grey A, B, X, Y buttons and comfortable, concave analog sticks. The Play & Charge Kit includes a charging cable and rechargeable battery pack for uninterrupted gameplay and up to 25 hours of play per charge.
If that wasn’t enough, Stephen Toulouse released a new photo on his Twitter account. Yes, this is in fact the new controller. The D-Pad can twist and morph into individual buttons. The new controller looks totally sweet!

New video coming straight at you from Major Nelson himself:
Today, Hulu has officially announced “Hulu Plus“, a new premium service that will allow a select few of Hulu members to access Hulu on their PlayStation 3, iPhone, iPad, iTouch and select Bluray Players. The premium service will go for around $10 and will grant users HD access to full season shows from Fox, ABC and NBC. Shows like Glee, The Office, 30 Rock, House M.D., Modern Family, Family Guy, and Grey’s Anatomy,
Hulu will feature content from hundreds of show providers ranging from Modern to “Classic” shows. Expect more from this list in the recent months to come. The Premium HD services will stream full shows in 720p (HD), if available.
If you don’t get an invite, or don’t wish to subscribe to Hulu Plus, a free version will still be available to download and use with limited access to shows and compatible devices.
Expect Hulu to also branch out into other devices like Sony TVs, VIZIO TVs, and even Xbox 360 support, which will launch early 2011.
Keep in mind that the premium service will permit only a select amount of people to access the new content. If you wish to request for an invite, you may do so here. Hulu says the update will be launching in the upcoming months.
At the 2010 Microsoft E3 keynote, Cliffy B left the stage after unveiling Gears of War 3 campaign footage by saying that EPIC will be demoing “Beast Mode” at the showroom floor. Many haven’t gotten a chance to checkout “Beast Mode” yet, so feel free to watch the following video and give your thoughts!
EA showed off the latest footage of the Multiplayer gameplay of Medal of Honor at this years E3 and it’s breath-taking! I’m sure many of you are currently participating in the Multiplayer Beta and having a lot of fun with it as we are here at the GCN. Remember to give EA and DICE your feedback! It will be of assistance to list your flaws and possible improvements! I forgot to mention: The video has a kickass song from Linkin Park!
As we can assume, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood will, most likely, be an Online Multiplayer game. Ubisoft hasn’t released much regarding their future title, but it certainly has me on my toes. Judging from the photos, Ezio will be making an appearance in Ubi’s future title as well.
We are excited to announce the release date for Darwinia+ on Xbox Live Arcade. The game will be launched through XBLA on Wednesday 10th February 2010 and will cost 1200 points.
It’s been a long battle with Microsoft and their particularly high standards; in the end we are really thankful for their advice and help in completing this long and challenging game project. We have come to think of Darwinia+ as the Director’s Cut as it has surpassed our expectations of what we were originally looking to create and now looks and feels smoother than ever. As Darwinia+ is our first adventure onto a games console this also marks an extra special celebration for Introversion.
Check out the latest gametrailers video for what could possibly be the most anticipated title of the 2010 game year: Bioshock 2. As you can tell, Developers 2K Games are hard at work trying to make this game as mind-blowing as possible.
The release date is set for February 9th, 1020. I personally cannot wait for my long-awaited return to Rapture.
