Japanese PSPgo Playface TV Spot

Check out this latest Japanese PSPgo commercial… Pretty weird video eh? Sony is trying to put everything behind the new Playstation Portable. You have to admit that trying to push a “download only” system is not the easiest sell. But these days it looks like Digital is the “In” thing.

Bioshock 2 Siren Alley Trailer

Check out the latest gametrailers video for what could possibly be the most anticipated title of the 2010 game year: Bioshock 2. As you can tell, Developers 2K Games are hard at work trying to make this game as mind-blowing as possible.

The release date is set for February 9th, 1020. I personally cannot wait for my long-awaited return to Rapture.

Mushroom Wars announced for the PlayStation Network

Creat Studios (Canton, MA) today announced the release of Mushroom Wars for the PlayStation Network. Mushroom Wars will be available for download on the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, offered via Sony’s PlayStation Network on October 15th in North America and Europe.

Mushroom Wars is an all-ages, fast-paced, real time strategy (RTS) game that brings arcade skirmish gameplay to the forefront. With a quaint visual style featuring opposing tribes of mushroom armies, your battles take place in close-quarters maps using simple, straight-forward controls. Play short campaigns with Domination objectives where your goal is to take control of key strategic points, or play Conquest battles where the only way to win is to completely annihilate your opponent. Upgrade your bases to support larger armies, improve weaponry or act as defensive installations. Local multiplayer allows players to determine the toughest little army in the meadow. Move your armies into position and hopefully win the day.

Mushroom Wars for PlayStation Network features:

• Test your strategic tactics. There are 18 levels you can play in Skirmish mode. As you progress through the levels, the number of AI opponents increases. Do you think you can overcome three AI mushroom armies? Don’t worry, there are three difficulty settings.

• Need a change of scenery? With 25 levels in Campaign mode, you can battle in the meadow, forest and foothills of mushroom land.

• Divide and conquer. Local multiplayer allows two players to battle on the couch.

• Additional features. Includes custom music support and players can upload their gameplay to YouTube.

ZEN Studios Teaser Announcement

jpeg

ZEN Studios is gearing up to make an announcement this week for the Playstation 3 system. Here is a picture “hint” of what this big announcement could be.

HHmmm… I wonder what it could be. :)

Zen Studios will officially announce this big news tomorrow on the official PlayStation Blog. Call me crazy but I have this strange feeling that it has to do with Zen Pinball and a very popular Japanese franchise.

PSP Firmware Update (v6.10) is now live

With the October 1st launch of the new PSPgo, the latest PSP firmware 6.10 is now live.

Firmware v6.10 Features:

SensMe

SensMe channels is a new music application for PSP that uses Sony’s proprietary 12 Tone Analysis technology to evaluate music tracks that have been imported from Media Go application on your PC to your PSP. The application automatically categorizes the tracks into 12 channels such as “Relax” or “Newly Added”. Check out the walk-thru demo to see how it works.

Media Go Enhancements

In addition, PlayStation Store for the PSP and PSPgo via Media Go (v1.2) will be updated with a new look on Thursday, October 1. To access PlayStation Store, you need to download Media Go (or update Media Go if you already have it). Media Go is a free PC software application that allows you to easily organize and transfer music, photos and videos between your PC and PSP. It also allows you to access PlayStation Store and to purchase, backup and restore PSP games. Of course, you can always access PlayStation Store directly on the PSP and PSPgo by connecting to a wireless hot spot and simply logging in with your PlayStation Network ID. But for those of you who prefer to use a PC, you will see that downloading games, movies and TV shows for your PSP is easier than ever with the new PlayStation Store on Media Go. With this update, you’ll be able to export playlists onto the PSP. Go to us.playstation.com/psn/mediago to download Media Go and for more details.

Tethering (PSPgo only)

Another new feature is the ability to use a Bluetooth mobile device, such as a mobile phone, as a modem to connect your PSP system to the internet. This means that when you’re not located close to a wifi spot you have another way to get on the internet via a bluetooth mobile device.
